Prior engineering leadership while at Nottingham Spirk. Led the technical team for early connected-thermostat prototypes, owning PCB/firmware revision control through handoff and inventing signature circular RGB + matrix-LED user interactions for an intuitive, modern UI.
Prior engineering leadership while at Kaleidoscope Innovations. Owned the “robot personality” experience in the initial Proteus prototype—designing and building expressive lighting + audio subsystems (matrix “eyes,” brake/backup/flashlight behaviors) that communicate intent and state around people.
Owned the full product-development arc—from architecture through mechanical + electronics + firmware—plus safety-test readiness and manufacturer facilitation, including multi-level inverter R&D for efficient Level 2 charging.
Prior engineering leadership while at Kaleidoscope Innovations. Performed deep technical research and design guidance on an IEC 60601-compliant cable assembly—covering creepage/clearance, shielding strategy, BOM review, and cost-focused part recommendations.
Led hardware, firmware, and software from napkin sketch to MVP + engineering prototype: Linux-based embedded platform, OpenCV image analysis to identify sutures, and custom sensing (including an IR mesh sensor) to detect even hair-thin sutures.
Prior engineering leadership while at Nottingham Spirk. Led engineering across the kiosk platform—from Linux system architecture through electronics + firmware for optics, illumination, motion, and safety—driving documentation, harnessing, and standards-minded development.
